Instead of simply traveling directly to the archaeological site, enjoy the countryside scenery along the way. The Jeep allows you to experience the changing landscape, fresh air and rural atmosphere of Central Vietnam.
The approximately one-hour journey provides a relaxing transition from the historic streets of Hoi An to the ancient temples of My Son.
Discover My Son Sanctuary
My Son Sanctuary is one of Vietnam’s most important archaeological sites and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The complex was built by the ancient Champa civilization and served as an important religious center. Many of the temples were dedicated to Hindu deities, particularly Shiva.
Today, the remaining towers and ruins provide a remarkable insight into Champa architecture, religion and culture. Surrounded by green mountains and forest, the site has a peaceful and atmospheric setting.
The Champa Civilization
The Champa Kingdom played an important role in the history of Central and Southern Vietnam.
The Champa people developed their own distinctive architecture, religious traditions, art and cultural identity. Their influence can still be seen in archaeological sites, sculptures and cultural traditions throughout Central Vietnam.
During your visit, your guide will help explain the historical context behind the ruins so you can understand more than simply what you see.
Traditional Pottery Workshop
After My Son, continue to a traditional pottery gallery and workshop.
Meet a Vietnamese artisan and observe the craftsmanship involved in producing pottery. Depending on the workshop’s activities, you may have the opportunity to see different stages of the process and learn more about traditional techniques.
The pottery visit adds a hands-on cultural dimension to the tour and connects the ancient heritage of My Son with living Vietnamese craftsmanship.
Morning Tour with Vietnamese Lunch
The morning experience starts at 7:30 AM and returns to Hoi An at approximately 1:00 PM.
After visiting My Son and the pottery workshop, finish the experience at Vy’s Bistro with a homely Vietnamese lunch.
The meal provides a relaxed ending to the morning adventure before you return to your hotel in Hoi An.
Afternoon Tour with Sunset Drinks
The afternoon experience starts at 2:00 PM and finishes at approximately 7:00 PM.
After exploring My Son and visiting the pottery workshop, finish at Vy’s Bistro with finger food and a cocktail.
This option is ideal for travelers who prefer a slower morning and want to experience My Son during the afternoon before finishing with a relaxed evening drink.
