Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Hanoi – Ha Giang – Bac Sum Pass – Heaven Gate – Quan Ba – Yen Minh – Tham Ma Pass – Hmong King Palace – Dong Van

Your northern Vietnam adventure begins in Hanoi with a comfortable transfer toward Ha Giang. Depending on your preferred schedule, we can arrange a private limousine or another suitable transfer option. Upon arrival in Ha Giang, meet your professional female-led team and continue your journey by open-air Jeep. The road quickly leaves the city behind and climbs into the mountains, revealing dramatic limestone formations, deep valleys and peaceful mountain scenery.

Continue through Bac Sum Pass toward Quan Ba Heaven Gate, one of the most impressive viewpoints on the route. From here, enjoy panoramic views across Tam Son and the famous Twin Mountains before continuing toward Yen Minh. Stop for lunch and enjoy the mountain atmosphere before continuing deeper into the Dong Van Karst Plateau. The landscape changes continuously, with winding roads, terraced fields, limestone peaks and traditional mountain villages surrounding the route.

In the afternoon, continue toward Dong Van through the dramatic Tham Ma Pass and the spectacular limestone landscapes of northern Ha Giang. Visit the historic Hmong King Palace in Sa Phin, an important cultural and architectural site connected with the history of the Hmong people. Continue to Dong Van Town, check into your accommodation and enjoy dinner. After dinner, relax or explore the peaceful mountain town before spending your first night in Dong Van.

Day 2: Dong Van – Ma Pi Leng Pass – Nho Que River – Meo Vac – Mau Due – Du Gia

After breakfast, leave Dong Van and begin one of the most spectacular sections of the entire journey. Follow the famous Happiness Road toward Ma Pi Leng Pass, where enormous limestone cliffs rise above deep valleys. Stop at carefully selected viewpoints to admire the dramatic landscape and enjoy panoramic views of the Nho Que River far below. Today’s route takes you away from the classic Ha Giang Loop and deeper into the remote mountain landscapes connecting Ha Giang and Cao Bang. Travel through Bac Me and Bao Lam, passing forests, limestone mountains, valleys and traditional villages. This is one of the quieter sections of the journey and offers an excellent opportunity to experience northern Vietnam beyond the main tourist routes.

Continue through spectacular mountain scenery along winding roads and hidden valleys. Stop along the way for photographs and enjoy lunch during the journey. The route becomes increasingly rugged as you approach the Me Pia Pass area, with dramatic mountains surrounding the road. Arrive in Bao Lac after a full day of mountain travel and check into your accommodation. Day 4: Bao Lac – Cao Bang – Nguom Ngao Cave – Ban Gioc Waterfall
