Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Hanoi – Ha Giang – Bac Sum Pass – Heaven Gate – Lung Tam – Yen Minh – Hmong King Palace – Dong Van

Your journey begins in Hanoi with a comfortable transfer toward Ha Giang. For travelers who want to maximize their time in the mountains, we can arrange a VIP sleeper bus or another suitable transfer option from Hanoi to Ha Giang. Upon arrival, meet your experienced female-led team and begin your adventure by open-air Jeep. The road quickly leaves the city behind and climbs into the spectacular mountains, with winding roads, limestone peaks and beautiful valleys appearing along the route.

Your first major viewpoint is Bac Sum Pass, where you can stop to admire panoramic views over the surrounding mountains and valleys. Continue toward Heaven Gate and enjoy the dramatic landscape around Quan Ba, including the famous Twin Mountains. After descending into the valley, travel through quieter mountain roads toward Lung Tam, where you can discover traditional handicrafts and experience the cultural heritage of the communities living in this beautiful region. Enjoy lunch before continuing toward Yen Minh.

In the afternoon, continue through the spectacular landscapes of the Dong Van Karst Plateau. Travel along mountain roads toward Tham Ma, one of the most recognizable sections of the Ha Giang Loop, before continuing toward the historic Hmong King Palace. Explore this important cultural and architectural site before heading to Dong Van Town. Check into your accommodation, enjoy dinner and have free time to relax or explore the peaceful mountain town before spending the night in Dong Van.

Day 2: Dong Van – Ma Pi Leng Pass – Meo Vac – Bao Lac – Me Pia Pass – Cao Bang

After breakfast, leave Dong Van and begin one of the most spectacular days of the journey. Follow the famous Happiness Road toward Ma Pi Leng Pass, where enormous limestone cliffs rise above deep valleys. Stop at scenic viewpoints to admire the dramatic landscape and enjoy panoramic views of the Nho Que River far below. The open-air Jeep gives you an unobstructed view of the mountains and winding road throughout this unforgettable section.

Continue toward Meo Vac and travel deeper into the remote mountain landscapes separating Ha Giang and Cao Bang. Enjoy lunch in the Bao Lac area before continuing toward Cao Bang. Along the way, the scenery changes from the high limestone plateau to quieter valleys, traditional villages and spectacular mountain formations. The route offers an opportunity to experience a less-visited side of northern Vietnam away from the main tourist circuit.

Day 3: Cao Bang – Phia Thap – Nui Mat Than – Nguom Ngao Cave – Ban Gioc Waterfall – Khuoi Ky Village

After breakfast, leave Cao Bang City and continue your journey by open-air Jeep toward Phia Thap Village. The morning route takes you through beautiful countryside and traditional communities before reaching Nui Mat Than, also known as Angel Eye Mountain. This distinctive natural formation is surrounded by dramatic limestone scenery and open green valleys, providing excellent opportunities for photographs and enjoying the peaceful landscape.

Continue toward Nguom Ngao Cave, one of the remarkable natural attractions of Cao Bang. Day 4: Khuoi Ky – Bai Co Chay – Cao Bang – Hanoi

Travel toward Bai Co Chay, an area known for its open mountain landscapes, green valleys and peaceful scenery. The journey provides another opportunity to experience the quieter side of northern Vietnam, away from the main tourist attractions and busy roads.

Continue toward Cao Bang City, enjoying the changing landscapes along the way. Stop for lunch before preparing for the journey back to Hanoi.
